Someone once said “Success is goals and all else is commentary”. Well once you have set yourself some goals you need to start giving them some energy and focus. For people and circumstances to be attracted to you, you need to do something every day however small to move yourself toward these goals.
Just get that one proactive thing a day. Your action will create more and more and more action for you. You need to have the self discipline to make a commitment to do one proactive thing a day no matter what. This maybe sending out a Joint Venture proposal, writing some sales copy or setting up a Pay-per-click campaign. Don’t do everything but just do one thing. Just doing one small proactive thing will have an immense impact.
Have you heard of the ‘80/20 rule’ or the Pareto Principle? It says that 20% of your actions produce 80% of your results, and the other way round. 80% of your work only creates 20% of your results. So if you just get that one proactive thing a day (from the 20% group) that is going to propel you further.
Make it a point to focus on those “20% activities”. Once you get the habit of doing something every day you will begin to move forward and you will feel you are getting somewhere.
Just sitting in a chair and thinking about your goal twice a day is not going to work. You may see some minor changes in your life as a result but you need to incorporate the feeling/emotion and as a result take some action to bring your dreams into reality.
If your goal is own a luxury car then you not only need to write the goal down in specific detail but also visualize the emotion of already having the car. You can smell the leather and are sitting in the driver’s seat. This will entail you visiting the car showroom and taking a test drive (taking some action).
